What is B.O.O.M.T.E.C.?
B.O.O.M.T.E.C. stands for the Brilliant Organization of Operations, Magic, Technology, Engineering and Craftsmanship. Founded from separate companies by a combination of Goblins, Gnomes and Dwarves, BOOMTEC is a research union focused on exploring all avenues of inquiry and advancement to try to better Azeroth with a cavalier attitude when it comes to taking risks and doing dangerous and often crazy experiments.
Being a research union, we go on many expeditions and missions that allow us to see places across Azeroth and beyond, as well as fighting increasingly wild threats that we uncover while delving deep into places others would not dare to tread. Alongside the major expeditions and storylines, we also do various events hosted by our members who have a variety of dming styles. Research is done both on discord and in game so thereâs plenty to do whether your character is an engineer, scientist of scholar of the arcane - but while research is at the heart of our company, we also need our security who test our inventions and hold the line when our researchers have their hands full researching in a tricky situation! There are likewise plenty of personnel roles you can play too, from being a medic mending the many wounds we sustain, presented with new challenges everyday, or just acting as a representative going around trying to find people to sell our goods and services to or getting the scoop as a reporter!
So whoever your character is and whatever they can bring to the table, whether youâre new and want to tag along or want to really get stuck in, we want you to join us on our adventures!
Accepted Races:
BOOMTEC accepts all races into the company as long as your character has a reason to join us. Orcs who like inventing heavy metal weaponry, Forsaken who want to push the boundaries of science, Elves who donât feel their ideas fit in amongst their people, Vulpera seeking brand new opportunities or people simply looking for a job full of adventure are all welcome amongst us! However, there are three major races that head the guild:
Goblins: Having first started out as a Bilgewater Battalion guild back in BfA, Goblins have always sat at the top of BOOMTEC Incorporated. Many of our principles follow the principles of the Goblins and their lax attitudes towards health and safety as well as their engaged attitudes towards profit. If youâre looking for a Goblin heavy guild, youâve come to the right place!
Gnomes: Gnomes are a foil to Goblins just as Goblins are to Gnomes. Standing at the same stature and having even bigger Napoleon complexes, the synergy of Goblins AND Gnomes trying to run a company together makes for some hilarious interactions, rivalries and a wide variety of events! Weâve seen Gnomes work with Goblins on Fizzle & Pozziks Speedbarge but thanks to Mechagon with the Mechagnomes bridging the gap between the two races, itâs easier to have the smaller races band together than ever before!
Dwarves: Dwarves are the natural ally of Gnomes, so itâs hard to imagine they wouldnât be interested. They love engineering and archaeology just as we do and itâs been seen on multiple occasions that they also have an eye for profit. Thanks to the inclusion of Dark Irons with their dubious morality and the Earthen with their Machine Speakers fascinated by new technology and Unbound intrigued by adventure in the playable races, thereâs more options to play a Dwarf in BOOMTEC than ever!
We like to actively search for characters of these three races to join our guild, but as noted prior, we accept characters of all races and a Human, Vulpera or Orc would have just as many opportunities and ranks available to them as the Goblins, Gnomes and Dwarves do- heck, weâve even got a Worgen Underboss! If you ever need help finding a reason why your character would join BOOMTEC, donât hesitate to approach one of our officers in game or reply to this thread!
Ranks:
New Hire: New hires are those who have recently joined the company and want to join our research and development team or security forces and havenât proven themselves yet. Often we prefer that new recruits RP with us semi-regularly for at least a month before they become a fully fledged researcher or security officer for us.
Employee: Employees of the company are those who donât fit into the concept of R&D or Security. These characters range from interns to sales representatives to reporters to chefs and medics and so on and so forth who act as a backbone for the company and ensure that weâre always turning a profit!
Mercenary: Mercenaries come from all walks of life, but for the most part your mercenary has decided that they want to join the BOOMTEC Union and take advantage of our lucrative contracts, contacts and discounts on our cutting edge technology. BOOMTEC does not require that our mercenaries constantly stick around us even though they can if they want, and theyâre paid on a mission by mission business whether theyâre guarding our researchers or enforcing our will.
R&D: Our research and development team are made up of researchers from all walks of life even though itâs mainly populated by Goblins and Gnomes. Theyâre trusted to push the boundaries of technology, alchemy and magic to create new innovations that we can sell for a profit or donate to the name of progress or find intricate solutions to problems that face us. Even though youâre free to be a more non combative researcher who needs their fellow researchers, security and mercenaries to further their own experiments, our R&D often join us on expeditions to use their dangerous magic and technology to aid us in battle!
Security: As a security officer working for the BOOMTEC Union, you have more officiality than the average mercenary and youâre dedicated to ensuring that BOOMTECâs assets remain safe and that our researchers, sales representatives and ESPECIALLY the Board and Mogul donât end up dead. Whether you were assigned to the company by the Bilgewater Battalion, Gnomeregan Army or any faction of your choosing or you just seek to be a loyal security officer for BOOMTEC, youâll be at the forefront of our security and enforcement operations!
Officer: The officers of BOOMTEC are one step below the Underbosses, and are often put in charge on individual missions or when the bosses and underbosses arenât about. They are the Lieutenants of our Security Captains and the left and right hands of our research heads, playing their own integral role in keeping the company running smoothly.
Underboss: Every Mogul has a team of loyal Underbosses who keep everything running smoothly. Although we once had separate leaders for our R&D departments and security team, as the company became a union the Underbosses now act as general leadership second to the Boss.
The Board: The Board are a group of rich and powerful individuals of the races that are most interested in the company. They have the biggest investments and in return they get a cut of our profits and are able to use BOOMTEC resources and personnel to further their own goals. Some board members are more actively invested in managing the company than others, but all of them are important, and all of them advise the Mogul. The board is currently made up of our original core of OOC officers.
The Boss: Currently Mondo Clobbersprocket, the Boss is the leader of the Union who oversees everything. They oversee most operations and major details and what they say goes unless the board vote against them or the ex-Mogul advises them for or against something.
Event Schedule:
Our event schedule is quite random as we like to mix in social days with event days and ensure that people with any sort of schedule get to attend events. However, we do commit to having at least three events a week and at maximum five unless weâre on campaign which weâll warn you of in advance. However, our is to make sure there is a welcoming environment for all members to run their own events prioritised over official guild events and casual RP in the places we go to as well.
Rules:
Getting down to the more administrative side of the guild, the rules of our guild are simple:
- Do not OOC in spatial channels eg. say, yell or emote- this applies even to clarifying things happening in RP, itâs best to just use whispers or guild and raid chat!
- We have zero tolerance towards ERP within the guild. If we catch you ERPing it will result in immediate removal from the guild as we donât want erotic acts where children can find them. We also donât condone erotic descriptions in RP profiles nor lust bars in TRPs.
- Please respect other Roleplayers and donât run around on mounts/disrupt RP.
We donât like drama in the guild and will act upon it when it arises, so please try to keep up a friendly atmosphere within the guild and our discord. - We also request that people be respectful towards peoples opinions. Therefore please only use TRPâs pronoun indicators as intended and understand that we have zero tolerance towards homophobic, transphobic or racist views.
Attendance Rules:
We run by a month based attendance system. If you donât show up for fifteen days, we demote to citizen rank. If you donât show up for thirty days, we will unfortunately have to remove you from the guild.
These rules mean showing up for RP, not logging in and out. Furthermore, if you log in for one day it will only stop your attendance timer temporarily. Youâll have to log on relatively regularly for at least a week before we remove the attendance timer. This way we can keep our numbers as a true reflection of the guilds actual size.
Recruitment and Accepted Races:
As stated on the rank list, some ranks in the guild are only for the core races of the original guild, Goblins, Orcs, Forsaken and Vulpera with extra emphasis on wanting mainly Goblins being a Bilgewater company and all, but our personnel and mercenary ranks are open to all races who have good reason and are of the right power level/lore friendliness. Please note that we are strict on attendance at first and unless forewarned will remove people who join never to log on again after a week or two. Our current recruitment officers are Bettiboom, Hexietta, Hexfeltech, Viira and Letzy.
