I say allow it and give them their own channel. HOWEVER, the channel is disabled by default, so only people interested in having others play the game for them will hear it by turning it on.

It’s literally how high-end raiders make their gold. It’s already against ToS to advertise in the premade groups tool, but there’s no harm in allowing raiders to sell a service for ingame currency that someone else is happy to pay for.

I dunno, I think this is peak game design - You pay for access to the game in real money so that you can then pay other people ingame to play the game for you.

I wish I would have thought of it. If someone had pitched the idea to me, I’d have called them crazy, but it apparently works! Humans are marvellous creatues.

Where theres a demand there will always be a supply to fill it.

Why are people so attached to trade channel anyway? Do you really want to see some level 3 doofus advertising his wool cloth or whatever when you have an auction house packed to the rafters?

I closed trade years ago and I’ve not missed a thing except some casual racism and those oh so hilarious people linking dirty achievements.

People will pay in game gold (or real money in some cases) to get a group to run them through dungeons or raids for achievements or gear.

There are two separate things.

Some people would like to ban BOOSTS for gold.

Others would like to ban ADVERTISING of boosts in /Trade.

We have so many threads from people who haven’t bothered to look up what has been discussed before, please at least make clear which it is you’re against.

Yup, use badboy, its very good, hiding boosters form channel, also its not take ignore space at all.

Boosting for gold is not againts ToS, its people choice, noone force you to buy it.

I also find them anoying, even tho they banned to use premade group finder to sell boosts, everyday I see the same people advertise the same stuff, no matter how many times I report them.

Seems blizz doesn’t care about them much either…

Well LFG doesn’t guarantee you a place in a group unless you’re the group leader. Plus you have other indicators like RIO where people will see your progress and decline you if your score is low. The boosting services cease the need to have anything for them other than a character that can run the dungeon/raid and the gold/money to pay for the privelidge of being taken through them.

the problem isn’t boosts per say, its

1. people constantly spaming them in /2 and sometime in lfg (someone above said this is against t&s but i still see them.
2. players who buy boosts. as long as people are willing to pay for them, there will be people who sell/advertise them.

buying a “curve run” to get a mount once an expansion is ok imo. i’ve done it twice (moose and bird).

BUT buying lvling boosts? gearing boosts? wtf? why are you even playing the game?

Nah, boosting should be completely hidden. I’d prefer it disabled by default and not listed anywhere in the UI (except the option to switch on the channel).

I think it about time blizzard makes a separate tab for boosts just like trade cause the 5 line all caps spam in general is getting out of hand.

Up until the last few months my server did not have any boost sellers. Personally i have nothing against people selling boosts. If people want to pay gold for that then good for the seller and the buyer i guess. Selling dungeon/raid/pvp boosts needs to stop?!

The amount of boost selling is getting totally ridiculous now… I’m playing on Ravencrest alliance and all that happens in trade chat is “Wt boost wts boost wts boost”. Boost services taking over every aspect of public chat

Please start banning people for this, last few months this is the only thing that appears in general and trade chats, same five names that keep one-upping each other with boost offers “ONLY FOR GOLD BTW”. I keep putting them on ignore, reporting for cheating, reporting for language and spam with information to their discord servers. please can we have this… I cant deal with this chat anymore… all I see is WTS boost, boost this, boost that… we can’t even block the discussions because there is no filter like in BDO to do so… I do not want to have to download an addon just to ignore these people… Blizzards sort it out.

You mean like me selling 2 Mythic BoEs past 2 weeks. How does selling a boost and selling2 BoEs differ. least boosters have some effort in their boost. Me looting 2 trash epics on same raid is not an effort.

And how does it differ from me playing with friends, who happen to be that much better than me ? I do not pay them anything, but technically they still boost me. Booster teams is like hiring a mercenary. There’s not much difference of friends boosting friend or guildie, and you hiring a team from trade chat.

So i should never go M+ with my friends or guildies, or arena with other on-line friends if they happen to be better players than me ?
